  10.        This release note documents six components of the IRIS
  11.        InSight family-IRIS InSight Viewer, SGIHelp, SGIHelp/XHELP
  12.        Developer's kit, DesktopHelp, IRIS InSight Topic/Task
  13.        Navigator and Document Library.

  15.        IRIS InSight Viewer lets you access Silicon Graphics' online
  16.        document and support libraries. With this product, you can
  17.        view the glossary of terms, the online Help, and the online
  18.        versions of the standard end-user documentation set.  If you
  19.        have purchased the IRIS Development Option, you can view the
  20.        development documentation set.

  22.        SGIHelp is based upon the IRIS InSight technology. Content
  23.        that is displayed to the user is retrieved directly from a
  24.        set of IRIS InSight "books".  Once within the SGIHelp
  25.        Viewer, the user can scroll through the text, navigate via
  26.        hypertext links, view glossary terms, print, and browse an
  27.        available Index of Help topics for the particular
  28.        application that generated a help request.

  30.        SGIHelp is an application that is invoked only when a
  31.        request is made to get ``Help''. A user should never have to
  32.        start SGIHelp from the command-line.

  34.        The SGIHelp/XHELP Developer's kit is a set of tools that
  35.        enable developers to create context sensitive and topic
  36.        based help for their applications.  Help created with these
  37.        tools is directly viewable from within the SGIHelp system.

  39.        The Desktop Help Software communicates directly with the
  40.        program SGIHelp (the Desktop Help Server program) to provide
  41.        an overview of tasks a user would perform using tools on the
  42.        desktop.  The Desktop Help Index that gets displayed to the
  43.        user is a task-orientated means of accessing help for the
  44.        desktop. This index can be used to launch the user straight
  45.        into the SGIHelp viewer for a particular topic.  Once within
  46.        the SGIHelp Viewer, the user can scroll through the text,
  47.        navigate via hypertext links, view glossary terms, and
  48.        print.

  50.        The IRIS InSight Topic/Task Navigator is used in conjunction
  51.        with the Support Advantage and Support Partner Advantage
  52.        products. It gives a user the capability to navigate SGI-
  53.        authored topic or task trees to reveal entry points
  54.        (hypertext links) into the IRIS InSight documentation.
  55.  
  56.        Note:  Packaged with this software is a separate sheet that
  57.               contains the Software License Agreement.  This
  58.               software is provided to you solely under the terms

  174.        (the _r_e_l_n_o_t_e_s subsystem), you can view the release notes on
  175.        your screen.

  177.        Select ``Release Notes'' from the Tools submenu of the
  178.        Toolchest. This displays the _g_r_e_l_n_o_t_e_s(1) graphical browser
  179.        for the online release notes.
